Gerardo Debbink founded Quest Mexico in 2001. After spending many years listening and working side by side with the people of Mexico, Gerardo had a vision to create Quest Mexico, an organization that would give a voice to the voiceless, the poor living in Mexico. The program was built to create an avenue of empowerment for the poor, so that they may share their experiences, thoughts, and ideas. Embracing the theology of Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Quest Mexico was also established to raise consciousness in a neo-liberal world.

Today, Quest Mexico continues to create social justice and peace through transformative, experiential education. Quest Mexico annually serves a variety of groups, ranging from undergraduate and graduate universities, faith-based organizations, to various foundations and programs serving high school youth. Quest believes in a world without boarders, and is committed to bringing people of different cultures into community for many years to come.

If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, lets work together. And our liberation is definitely bound up with millions of those whom we cannot see and cannot hear.
